JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: PRODUCTION STUDIO AUDIO TECHNICIAN
MANAGERS TITLE: MANAGER, PRODUCTION STUDIOS OPERATIONS

Provides day to day audio support for the Creative Studios by NCLH in the aspect of rehearsals, inventory, and storage. 

Position will be responsible for setting up and maintaining audio equipment within the studios for rehearsals and other needs. 

Ensures the Creative Studios have the equipment needed for all audio needs and the inventory is maintained, organized, and functional.

Must be at least 18 years old to apply.

 

Position Responsabilities

  • Lead the audio install and strike of rehearsals as they come through the studio.
  • Troubleshoot audio issues that happen in the studio.
  • Maintain and inspect audio equipment on a regular basis.
  • Facilitate the repair of audio equipment as needed.
  • Assist and train Production and Creative staff on basic audio operating procedures when needed.
  • Maintain and update audio installation documents as well as assist in their creation when needed.
  • Maintain and help with the organization of the Audio Storage Area.
  • Setup and modify audio racks based on show needs.
  • Setup basic EQs for shows.
  • Maintain audio inventories for the Creative Studios.
  • Schedule and test In-Ear systems when required by shows.
  • With guidance of Specialist, Production Studio Operations, schedule installs and strikes of audio.
  • Create, maintain, and update studio audio ground plans.
  • Support specialist in fleetwide theatrical audio production needs.
  • Keep audio files up to date both on Box as well as on studio equipment.
  • Support in audio-based purchases.
  • Request additional support when needed.
  • Support and perform other production related duties as assigned or as directed.

Dimensions

  • Production Studio Audio Technician reports directly to Specialist, Production Studio Operations and Manager, Production Studio Operations. 
  •  Will work closely with PAs and Collaboratively with IPSMs, PSMs, and ASMs.

Nature and Scope

  • Incumbent devotes time and effort to advancing the interests of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. Common challenge is to take the ever-changing project scopes and to make them work in the unique environment of cruise line entertainment.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus. Not required.
  • A Combination of advanced training and practical experience in Audio, Technical Theatre, and Theatrical Production.
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years’ experience as an audio technician or similar role. Experience in live theatre preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite required, emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
  • Knowledge of analog and digital audio mixers as well as Qlab and GoButton. 
  • Knowledge of Fireface and Ableton a plus. o Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work alone and collaboratively.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
