POSITION TITLE: GAME SHOW OPERATOR
MANAGERS TITLE: THEATRICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER 

The Game Show Operator position controls the game show system elements for The Price Is Right, Supermarket Sweep, Press Your Luck and Beat the Clock. The position will have full understanding of the rules and format of all games, to ensure consistency and fair game play. This Game Show Operator will report to the production/cruise programs team onboard the ship.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages the game play system and any updated game material as needed
  • Train with Fremantle Game Designer to learn all system specifics
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may arise through the game play system
  • Run the Game Play computer during all shows and rehearsals
  • Runs game show system while communicating with the game host during the show.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and upkeep the RFID program for Supermarket Sweep.
  • Assist PSM with any show updates as needed.
  • Assist Game Show Coordinator and Production Stage Manager with the registration and audience random selection process during shows.
  • Assist Game Show Coordinator and Production Stage Manager with the audition process of game shows as required.
  • Assist Coordinator with any prize fulfillment documentation and requirements.
  • Create a weekly game play with the assistance of PSM and Coordinator.
  • Report any issues with the game play system to the PSM as soon as possible.

Job Description

  1. Generate a weekly report on all game system elements for each show for the PSM to add to the weekly voyage report.
  2. Assist with other show needs as required
  3. Other job related functions as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

Education

  1. High School diploma required
  2. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technonolgy, Technical Entertainment is preferred.

Experience

  1. Operating gaming consoles, following cues during a live theatrical performanace and production management.
  2. Must have a good understand of production workflow, hands on experience of reality and studio based productions
  3. Knowledge of cruise line entertainment and experience working on a cruise ship preferable.

  • Have the ability to create budgets, schedules, and full-scale production plans.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Q-Lab and basic A/V equipment
  • Must have working knowledge of the different departments that are involved with the show production
  • Must be able to navigate advanced features of the Windows 10 Pro Operating System
  • Must have basic knowledge of Computer Networking, Dante Audio and DMX Lighting Control
  • Must have the ability to learn new software and technological updates for the game show systems
  • Exercise strong logic and reasoning skills during game play Have excellent communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the essential functions of this job, all team members are required to stand; walk long distances on the ship; use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, taste and smell. All vessel positions require repetitive motion of bending, climbing, going up and down stairs and lifting more than 25 pounds. This job requires specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • All team members must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills. All vessel positions require full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
  • Work within different temperature changes—indoors to outdoors.
  • Able to pass basic safety course.
