JOB DESCRIPTION

Ensure all the install production stage managers in Tampa facility are having their needs met. You are there to support them in paper work, driving the cast to and from rehearsal space. Pick up the cast members from the airport.

Responsibility and Authority

Position Responsibilities

  1. Transport cast and creative team from Tampa airport to NCS/housing along with the Install Production Stage Manager/Production Stage Manager.
  2. Transport cast to and from NCS for the work day as well as grocery runs along with the Install Production Stage Manager/Production Stage Manager.
  3. Keep all assigned studios spaces maintained and tidy along with the Install Production Stage Manager/Production Stage Manager.
  4. Ensure all cast members and creative teams follow all NCS rules.
  5. Run all errands for the Install Production Stage that might take them out of the rehearsal space.
  6. If the Install PSM needs to step out of rehearsal, Assistant Stage Manager must be prepared to run the room.
  7. Assist the Install Production Stage Manager with all Pre-Production organization, research, paperwork, materials, and scheduling.
  8. Assist the Install Production Stage Manager with any paper work that needs to be created or updated for the shows.
  9. Assist the Install Production Stage Manager in updating the show paperwork in Production Bible and BOX.com
  10. Assist the Install Production Stage Manager in ensure assigned production team have everything they need for rehearsal.
  11. Assist the Install Production Stage Manager in updating the rehearsal runs in BOX.com

Job Description

  1. Ensure all crew members have correct and updated paperwork for boarding the ship. 
  2. Work with Manager of Facilities on any housing or studio issues. Assist the Install PSM with setup and strike of sets, props, and equipment for rehearsal. 
  3. Document or update all set ups in rehearsal for future reference. 
  4. Able to run a side rehearsal in its entirety in a secondary studio on behalf of the Install Production Stage Manager. 
  5. Able to be on your feet for long periods of the day. 
  6. Able to lift up to 50lbs. Able to walk at least one mile everyday. 
  7. Able to walk up and down steps 
  8. Any other assigned tasks that relate to the Install Production Stage Manager/Production Stage Manager job scope.

Dimensions

  1. Reports to Manager of Production.
  2. Works closely with Install Production Stage Manager, and production team in Tampa.
  3. Know excel and word processing well.
  4. Be able to handle large amounts of paper work.

Nature and Scope

  1. Incumbent devotes time and effort to advancing the interests of Norwegian Cruise Line Entertainment.
  2. Liaises with Brands engaged by Norwegian Cruise Line Entertainment.
  3. Common challenge is the ever changing project scopes and to make them work in the unique environment of cruise line entertainment.

Safety

  1. Monitor the practical application of the Company's policy, procedures and instructions.
  2. Immediately report to onboard management any instances where the vessel is unable or fails to comply with any Company’s policy, procedure, instruction, and any safety, environmental, or security requirement. 3.
  3. Participate in crew and passenger safety drills according to instructions from ship’s command;
  4. Comply with company safety and pollution prevention regulations.
  5. Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Policy, SMS, operational policies and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.

Other Duties

  1. Performs other production related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Education and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theater, Emphasis in Stage Manager a plus. Not required.

Experience

  • 3 -5 years of experience in stage management work.

Knowledge and Skill

  • Expertise of theater production operations, budgets and procedures. 
  • Ability to create, manage and/or oversee production budgets. 
  • Knowledge of cruise ship entertainment operations. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts, including remote team onboard ships. 
  • Problem-solving skills, ability to work long hours with little break.
