A Message From Our Senior Vice President of Entertainment and Cruise Programs

LEADERSHIP UPDATE

I hope you are all healthy and safe. To think, it was 5 months ago that Robbie and I were in New York City for the opening of SIX, The Musical on Broadway. Well… the opening never happened, as that night, Broadway went dark. The very next day, NCLH voluntarily suspended all its voyages on NCL, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas vessels. From that moment, everyone within NCLH, both shoreside and onboard the ships, have been working non-stop to repatriate our crew, work with our producing partners on “pausing” contracts and all the administrative and logistical elements that go along with closing a show. However, we weren’t closing one show. We were closing 3 – 5 shows on 28 vessels. It was insane! And, these are insane times. While we may be down, we are not out.

Please rest assured we will be back. The question is: When?

At NCLH, we are working very closely with the United States Center for Disease Control on the best way to get us back into operation. Everyone at NCLH is working tirelessly to make this happen. We want to do it right, so that our Guests and Crew are vacationing and working in the most healthy and safe environments. Recently, NCLH and Royal Caribbean Group announced a collaboration to develop enhanced cruise health and safety standards in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, called the “Healthy Sail Panel.” The newly formed group of experts is tasked with collaboratively developing recommendations for cruise lines to advance their public health response to COVID-19, improve safety, and achieve readiness for the safe resumption of operations. The expert panel has been working for nearly a month and will offer its initial recommendations by the end of August.

I am sure you are all thinking, “Great, but when am I going to work again?” Honestly, I don’t know. We will not go back into operation until we are 100% satisfied that we have exceeded all the requirements set forth by the CDC and other national and international governmental organizations, as well as our own NCLH Health and Safety protocols. Please, rest assured that my team and I are doing everything possible to get you back to work so you can do what you do best - perform!

Please be safe and I look forward to seeing you on the ships soon.
