Norwegian Cruise Line is thrilled to announce a revamped and re-imagined production of FOOTLOOSE THE MUSICAL - grittier and sexier, this production features all new choreography and orchestrations.
Forced to move from his beloved Chicago, newcomer Ren McCormack is in shock when he discovers the small town he now calls home has banned dancing and made rock music illegal. As he struggles to fit in, Ren faces an uphill battle to stir things up and make change. With the help of his new friend, Willard Hewitt, and defiant teen Ariel Moore, he might loosen up this conservative town and help it heal from a tragedy that affected everyone. But Ariel's influential father, Reverend Shaw Moore stands in the way.

Ren McCormick

Male, able to portray High School student, Tenor - Strong-willed, edgy, rebellious and full of teenage hormonal aggression. Raised in liberal Chicago and suddenly finds himself in the conservative mid-west. Copes with these new, oppressive surroundings with a wry sense of humor. Actor will also be cast in BROADWAY IN CONCERT.

Ariel Moore

Female, able to portray High School student, Mezzo - Small town girl fighting to break out. Strong, smart and maybe a bit angsty, she is always finding ways to rebel against her father, who tries to keep her under lock and key. Actor will also be cast in BROADWAY IN CONCERT.

Willard Hewitt

Male, able to portray High School student, Bari-Tenor - The village puppy-dog. Loyal and a little dim, but ready to defend anyone’s honor. Shy around girls. Actor will also be cast in BROADWAY IN CONCERT. 

Rusty

Female, 20 to 25 (able to portray High School student), any ethnicity Soprano/Mezzo - Ariel’s Friend. Fun-loving motor mouth. Loyal to her friends. Full of quirks, and nervous around Willard, who she’s been crushing on for years. Actor will also be cast in ELEMENTS. 

Chuck Cranston

Male, able to portray High School student, Tenor - Ariel’s boyfriend. The town bad boy. Demanding, possessive and jealous… the definition of toxic masculinity. Actor will also be cast in ELEMENTS

Urleen

Female, able to portray High School student, Mezzo - Ariel’s friend. Savvy, smart and quirky. Unafraid to go after what she wants. The actor portraying Urleen will also be in ELEMENTS.

Wendy Jo

Female, able to portray High School student, Mezzo - Ariel’s friend. She may not be the smartest of her gang, but that doesn’t diminish her confidence… Funny and full of personality. The actor portraying Wendy Jo will also be in ELEMENTS.

Reverend Shaw Moore

Male, able to portray 40’s-early 50s, Mezzo - Spiritual leader and a powerful influence in the town. Deals with the loss of his son through overzealous piety. This causes a rift with his daughter Ariel, who is openly rebelling against him. Has unknowingly fallen into a pious trap, but is ultimately trying to do the right thing... Actor will also be cast in BROADWAY IN CONCERT.

Vi Moore

Female, able to portray 40’s-early 50s, Mezzo - Rev. Moore’s wife. Living in her husband’s shadow, though silently powerful. Ultimately, she finds her voice and becomes the agent of change for her husband. Actor will also be cast in BROADWAY IN CONCERT.

Ethel McCormick

Female, able to portray 40’s, Mezzo - Ren’s Mother. Dealing with the fallout from her divorce, and finding herself in a very different place than Chicago. Strong-willed, but now in a place where she’s constantly being told to be quiet. Protective of her son and her values, but unable to break free of her circumstances. Actor will also be cast in BROADWAY IN CONCERT.

Wes Warnicker / Principal Harry Clark

Male, able to portray 40’s-early 50s, Vocal range may vary - Ethel’s Brother in-Law. A small town man with small town values. Doesn’t understand the rebellious teenager who now lives in his home and tries in vain to keep him in line. Actor will also be cast in BROADWAY IN CONCERT.

Lulu Warnicker / Betty Blast

Female, able to portray 40’s-early 50s, Vocal range may vary, Roller Skating ability a plus - Ethel’s Sister. Housewife. Does what she’s told and doesn’t ask questions. It makes her a little loopy. Actor will also be cast in either BROADWAY IN CONCERT OR ELEMENTS.

Coach Roger Dunbar

Male, able to portray late 30’s, range may vary - Small town coach. Brutish rule maker – has no patience for questions. Thinks he’s a big shot. The actor portraying Coach Dunbar will also be in ELEMENTS.

Cowboy Bob

Male, able to portray late 20’s, Bari-Tenor - Lead singer of a country rock band. Handsome and charismatic, with a healthy helping of musician smarm. The actor portraying Cowboy Bob will also be in ELEMENTS.

Male-Identifying and Female-Identifying Dance Ensemble

Seeking strong male and female - identifying dancers who sing. All ethnicities encouraged. 18-30, must be able to play believable high school students. Male-identifying dancers 5’9”+, female-identifying dancers 5’2”+. All dancers will also perform in ELEMENTS, created and choreographed by Patti Wilcox. 

Must by 18 years or older to apply.
